Make sure you're on campus when you add a copier or printer!
Step One: Install the Copier Model Driver
Step Two: Add the Copier as a Printer

Step One: Install the Copier Model Driver

Click the Model Driver link for the appropriate driver on the chart to begin downloading. Note that different drivers are needed for each copier. All drivers are also found at SharpUSA.

Go to your downloads folder and double-click on your most recent download. (Or, use the dock to find your most recent download.)

Double-click on the dmg file and then double-click on the following icon. The mounted volume's actual name will vary.

Now, open the folder titled MacOSX.

Open the folder that matches your operating system. To find this out, go back to the Apple menu and click on About This Mac. You should see a window that looks similar to this:

My operating system is 10.12.5 so I will open the 10.12 folder. For macOS 10.13 and/or higher, use the 10.13 folder.

Finally, click the open box icon to install the driver on your computer. Proceed to follow the on-screen directions to install the driver.

Close any extra dialog boxes.

Step Two: Add the Copier as a Printer

Once you have successfully installed the driver, you will add the copier as a printer

1. Make sure you're on campus when you add printers! Once you're here and on the campus network, go to the Apple menu and select System Preferences...

Then select Printers & Scanners.

2. Click the "plus" (+) button to add a new printer.

3. From the icons across the top, click IP (below a grey globe). In the Address box, type the Copier Name. They do include "" at the end. In this example, we are adding the Library copier,, from the chart below.

4. In the Protocol box, choose Line Printer Daemon - LPD

5. In the drop-down menu at the bottom, wait a minute for it to show the correct SHARP model's driver.

5. If the correct SHARP model's driver shows up, click the Add button in the lower right. (If it says Generic PostScript Printer, reboot your laptop and go back to Step One: Install the Copier Model Driver.)

6. In the printer options dialog box, you can choose certain options depending on the copier. We generally have the Bypass Tray, the Finisher (Large Stacker) output tray, and 3 Hole punch.

7. Once you've selected these options, click OK. Close any extra dialog boxes.

Print a test page to the copier to confirm that it is set up correctly.
