How Do I Translate Apple Pages to Google Docs

Apple Pages to Google Docs Conversion Instructions for Students

Docs can't open Pages files, but you can upload a Microsoft Word

document and convert that to Google Docs. To do that, you must

export your files as Microsoft Word documents from Pages.

Please be aware that you will likely lose some formatting when you

convert, but it should work better than trying to manually copy/paste

the file contents.

Once the files are in the .docx format, you can open them and go to File >

Save as Docs to create a new document in Google Docs format.

Use your Menlo Google Account to Convert All Uploaded Documents

(This is not globally settable by you, a teacher, as the

owner of a shared folder.)

An individual student can change the settings on their Menlo Google Account for

their Google Drive so that ALL uploaded files (Pages, PDF, and Word)

are automatically converted to Google Docs format. A student can read

more about how to do that here:

Upload Files and Folders to Google Drive.
